Bio

Jessa Marsh was born in Muskegon, Michigan on June 27, 1986. She likes to brag that Iggy Pop was also born in Muskegon and that she shares a birthday with both Helen Keller and Capitan Kangaroo. She thinks that this makes her more interesting. She moved around a lot as a child, living in New Orleans and Virginia. Because of this she attaches great sentimentality to moving, U-Hauls, and Cajun food. When her mom got her first divorce Jessa, her sister, and her mother moved back to West Michigan. Jessa was a strange child and had a habit of crying in class back in grade school. As a result, she had few friends until she left Muskegon Catholic Central to attend Cedar Springs High School. Instead of hanging out in the mall, Jessa vowed to read every book that she could get her hands on. As it turns out, she made better friends with the characters of Vonnegut novels than she did in the hallways of MCC. Anyway, Jessa graduated from Cedar Springs High School in 2004. Later that year, she decided to buck all conventional knowledge and the advice of her loved ones and get married. It didn't stick, and she should have known because she walked down the aisle to "Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness", however the marriage did result in the sweetest little girl to ever drool and rock a sippy cup, the beautiful Clementine, who was born in May 2005. In 2007, after having a divorce and a short stint as an art and pin up model and host of Text Me TV, Jessa did the typical Michigan thing and ran off to the big city of Chicago. She is majoring in Fiction Writing and minoring in Women and Gender Studies at Columbia College Chicago. She has a stupid haircut, enjoys writing about herself in third person, and is working to get published.
