My body, Myself

September 30, 2008

Here is a basic run down of the last year and my body:

I started going to college and had free gym access and started working out with the sole purpose of making my body look better naked. Then I started missing days here and there, then weeks, then gave up altogether on the idea of getting the hawt body I desired. After all, working out did not make me lose a single pound and got me no closer to my goal weight (which was about fifteen pounds less than what I weighed at the time). The next semester I didn't even touch gym equipment. I gained fifteen pounds even from the start of 2008 until last weekend, when I weighed in at 142 pounds, fifteen pounds heavier than my high school and pre-college, post-baby weight. This is thirty-two pounds more than my former (crazy) goal of 110 pounds.

Anyway, this semester I've gone back to the gym a little. I started just running a mile, then two. Today I ran five miles for the first time probably ever. I intend on keeping this up.

So, I'm making it semi-public with the intention that if I know that people are aware that I'm on a journey to get down to a more reasonable goal of 125 pounds, two less than my post-adolescent average, then I'll be less likely to give up the fight.

Plus, after running, I feel amazing. So energetic and happy. So excited and proud. I could get used to this.
