Kindle has used the latest technology – e-ink technology to have created a Kindle which has taken the world of publishing by surprise. There are many players and many versions of Kindles available in the market. The major companies who bring in Kindles are Amazon and Sony. The two most popular devices on the market today are the Amazon Kindle and the Sony Reader.

Amazon created their first Kindle in November 2007. The response was so overwhelming that all were sold, within few hours of its release. Amazon has brought out series of versions, each having some additional feature than the previous one.
The Sony Reader is similar to Amazon, in appearance in many ways. Sony made 7 different version of it made, 4 of them are currently being sold.
